Why Is It So Important To Have A Daily Intake Rich With Antioxidants For Our Skin?

Environmental factors such as sun damage, pollution, pesticides, chemicals in shampoos, body washes etc. all play a role in causing damage to the skin. This damage creates free radicals which are like unstable scavengers who take oxygen away from healthy cells to become stable. These attacked healthy cells in turn then become unstable . This continuation of destruction can lead to skin conditions, pre-mature aging and even many different forms of cancer. Protection of healthy cells is key to prevent celluar damage. Antioxidants from mixed berries, kale, green tea and roobois tea (a few examples) not only give oxygen to these unstable cells and repair the damage but also protect the healthy cells. Daily recommendation of antioxidants is at least 1 cup of fruit and 1 cup of vegetables. Choose a variety of bright colours for maximum benefits.

An interesting fact about our skin: it is the largest organ of the body however is the last organ to benefit from our daily intake of nutrients. For example, say you are consuming 2 cups of mixed berries, 2 cups of green tea and 3 cups of leafy greens along with your protein, whole grains, brown rice and good fats (fish oil, avocado, olive oil, ect). Sounds great right? Many of my clients confess they may eat well however drink only one cup of water a day. Water is the only method of transportation of nutrients from our blood to our organs. So its extremely important to eat well and drink at least 2L of water every day.

If you are having a hard time with your daily intake of nutrients and water, this will effect the health of your organs including your skin. Therefore I highly recommend a skincare range full of nutrients. Trust me, you will notice a difference in your skin.

Thats the reason why I love the HydroPeptide skincare range as it’s formulation includes botanical stem cells from fruits and vegetables that have an abundance of antioxidants.

Hope you enjoyed today’s quick tip to keep your skin fit!
